Apart from music, comedy is one of my great loves in life. Laughter is never a bad thing and below are a list of my favourite funny people. Spike Milligan - Genius is the only word that comes close to describing him. Without the Goons very few of the comedies which followed would have existed. Paul Merton - Wonderful anarchic brain, his flights on fantasy on Just a Minute are inspired. Without him on HIGNFY, the show would have vanished by now. Eddie Izzard - Taking Stand up in a new direction which allows us to think and laugh at the same time. Bob Monkhouse - The Guv'nor of Comedy. Highly underrated as a stand up but his comedy brain was razor sharp. Ross Noble - The hardest working stand up around, his improv and audience interaction link well with his stand up.
Graham Garden, Barry Cryer, Tim Brooke-Taylor & Humphrey Littleton - "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" is quite possibly the funniest thing ever to be broadcast. The team constantly amaze with clever and witty ideas mixed with nonsense and smut to produce the perfect slice of comedy. Victoria Wood - The best female comedian ever, her wit and wisdom are always spot on and her writing is inspired. Billy Connolly - The Big Yin can still make us laugh at ourselves and the world around us, his sideways look at life never disappoints . Bill Bailey - Bringing great comedy and music together, Bill has a great sense of the absurd and a great self deprecating approach. The Simpsons - Matt Groening's creations continue to bring joy and satire in equal measures. The best thing is that they do this with a big heart also.
Not only but also...
